Here's just another pretty picture --- it must be all the blue color and near-symmetry that I like. These boat covers were photographed Saturday in Coeur D’Alene from the boardwalk but we saw them in use farther north in Sandpoint, ID.

It’s been 38 years since Gary, Barbara and I left Notre Dame to pursue our careers. Exchanging Christmas cards for the past several years led to our get-together on Sunday. Here we’ve had a delicious lunch at Anthony’s Restaurant, overlooking the falls of the Spokane River. It never ceases to amaze me how people may look a bit different on the outside but be so much the same inside --- even after nearly 40 years. Quite frankly, we do not expect these two to show up in State College. Their plans for the beautiful home they purchased two years back will keep them busy for the next 125 years, I reckon.

Our deluxe tour by Gary and Barbara included this view of the Spokane River in downtown Spokane

A scene at Gonzaga University, Spokane, where Gary taught for some 20+ years and where Barbara is still employed. The church is St. Aloysius, not surprisingly named in honor of St. Aloysius Gonzaga.

On Monday, we leave Spokane and head for Lewiston, ID, to meet up with my sister Rosemary. We are expecting the hottest day of our trip so our activities may all be inside. No bicycling. No walking the levee. Don’t get your hopes up.
