Time to say goodbye to Spokane, although we’ve left a lot of sightseeing undone. We’ll simply have to come back again to enjoy what we’ve missed. We’re off to Lewiston, ID, via Hwy 195, with a drive through the Washington State University campus at Pullam, then south from Moscow, ID. Here’s the reason we’re not doing any outdoor stuff today:

Even with A/C, driving south in temperatures like this is not comfortable. However, it’s only a one-day thing, according to the weather experts. Any readers will have to be satisfied with out-the-window shots of the countryside taken at a high speed setting, ie, 60 mph. Well, you don’t think I’d actually venture outside the car in this heat, do you?

Reaching Lewiston, we met up with my sister Rosemary and had dinner together at an interesting restaurant called the “Tomato Bros”. Not just a funny name, it has good food, too. Tomorrow, after more visiting with Rose, we’ll head farther down the road in the direction of Boise.
