Our first trip of the year was underway on March 4. Intending to spend time in a warmer climate, we drove at a leisurely pace to Myrtle Beach SC for a one week stay. The weather there was only cool-to-mild but it felt great to us! The beach environment was also a welcome change:
Our one week holiday gave us ample time to enjoy a Parks and Recreation Dance, several walks on the beach, bike rides along back streets, time to explore Brookgreen Gardens and time to sample a few restauants and malls, most notably Broadway at the Beach. Unfortunately, this winter escape ended prematurely due to a funeral in California that Patty wanted to attend. So, instead of another 10 days of temperate weather, we high-tailed it home and Patty was soon headed west by plane.
