Escaping the stress of buying a new home, Patty and I took a bus trip with friends to Lancaster PA to see the Millennium Theater production, “The Miracle of Christmas". This was one day after an 8” snowfall had blanketed State College, and it's a good thing our trip wasn't planned for a day earlier as it would have been cancelled. Snow plows had piled the snow at least 2 1/2' deep across our drive and our snow blower easily earned its keep. Farther south, less snow fell but, in any case, roads were all clear for a Saturday drive.

To give you an impression of scenery along the road, here is a passing shot of Lewistown from the expressway:

This next photo is taken as we drove into the Hershey Farm Restaurant next to the theater which is in the background. Normally, one could easily walk to it from the restaurant but not this day.

Here's Patty outside the restaurant near the snow-covered trail to the theater:

This is a side view of the theater showing how huge it is. .... Well, if you're going to have heavenly hosts cavorting around overhead, you need the space!

The front of the theater is shown in this next photo, taken well before show time. The 1 pm show was packed!

Here we are in front of the theater at the "Lion and Lamb" sculpture:

"The Miracle of Christmas" was an impressive, almost eye-popping production but we weren't allowed to take any photos inside. Too bad, for besides the flying angels there was an acrobatic Satan, horses ridden down the aisles, camels guided down the same way --- lots of animals, in fact, as well as hordes of actors and even one scene that takes place right in heaven! Alas, you'll have to settle for a paltry few earthbound shots as the bus made its way back to the highway:

And, as a "grand" finale, this episode ends with "Winter Reflections":
