There were several reasons for this trip: share a week in Frisco CO with our State College friends, visit Patty's aunt and uncle in Lincoln NE and spend some pre-birthday time with John's sister in Leavenworth KS. Moreover, we wanted to do as much sightseeing, dancing and biking as possible while traveling --- without running ourselves ragged.
Since moving away from State College in 2014, we have already joined our good friends, Jan and Diane, twice for memorable reunions in Europe. Those journeys are described in the two links below. This year, we decided to trade the complexity of a joint European venture for a stay at a modern condo at 9000 ft in the Colorado Rockies. We looked forward to local sightseeing, hikes, dances, bike rides, as well as enjoying the small town atmosphere of Frisco and its colorful aspens. All of those expectations transpired to one degree or another except for finding local dances. To spend a day driving to Denver and back for a dance was not on our agenda.
However, Patty and I did have much success finding senior dances on this trip --- just not near Frisco. Although they were not uniformly spaced out, as we would have preferred, we found six delightful dances in Show Low AZ (twice), Farmington NM, Boulder CO, Loveland CO and North Platte NE. The Senior Center in Farmington won top honors, in our estimation, for best all-around venue --- a place we wish was closer to home. For a drive of 30 days, six dances is more than we would have managed staying home!

NOTES ON NAVIGATING THIS DOCUMENT
The "Photo Album" link leads to a Google Photos Album. Any modern browser should open that album in a separate tab or window. To return from the album, simply close its tab or window (depending on your browser). Google provides no back button.
Each photo in the Album can be clicked to view an enlargement. In fact, all photos can be viewed in the “enlarged mode” (with black background). Doing so, however, means only a short caption is viewable for each photo rather than a more complete narrative. On older browsers, this mode may be the only one available, initiated from the slideshow option (click on 3 dots aligned vertically).
Full Screen (or Presentation) Mode is recommended, if available, in your browser. In this mode, tabs reappear automatically when your mouse reaches for them.
If you are viewing this on an iPad --- as of May 20, 2020 --- the Chrome browser will not open the Google Album for unknown reasons. Safari, Firefox and even the Google browser all work.
