Trip Overview
September 25 - November 5, 2012

• The impetus for this trip was simple: an October wedding for John’s daughter in southern California. What else would a father do but plan on attending? To fly or not to fly --- that was the only question we had. Driving our own car, of course, won out. That gave us a chance to explore more of this wonderful country and made connecting with friends and relatives along the way much easier.
  
  The route we followed is shown in the map below. All that “bobbing and weaving” stretched our total trip length to nearly 7700 miles. Remarkably, fine weather followed us almost continuously. Not once on this six week journey were we concerned about the threat of storms!
  
  Well, the backseat is empty if you’d care to travel along. Rest assured, you will return safely to central Pennsylvania with a greater appreciation of the marvels this country holds.
