Goblin Valley State Park
-
Another Utah State Park on our out-of-the-way list was Goblin Valley, north of the small town of Hanksville:
By magic, the goblins here have disguised themselves as stone-capped hoodoos:
How big are they? Well, standard size as goblins go. For comparison, note Patty next to one, purposely crouching to make the goblins seem bigger:
Just kidding, of course. Actually, the wind was so strong it was difficult to stand up straight ...
... or keep your hat on! We knew right from the start we were not wanted in these parts. The goblins kept kicking up bits of sand that the wind gusts hurled at us. They were doing their best to get us out of the Park.
This is as far as we ventured in this valley of goblins before we threw in the towel and headed for the exit:
Looking back from that valley gives an idea how many of these mischievous rascals are out there ...
... and this is only one of three separate goblin-filled valleys identified on the park map!
Finally, we were hustled out of the park by these burly sentinels:
Surely, these guys are that proverbial threesome, “Hear no Evil, See no Evil and Speak no Evil” joined by their lowly companion, “Keep Big Mouth Shut”.
