Trip Overview
April 1 - May 2, 2012

• From memories of past visits to Britain with generally fine springtime weather, we expected a weather repeat. It was not to be. Though the sun showed its face frequently, the weather ranged from chilly to cold, from showery to rainy and from breezy to very gusty.
  
  However, having good weather was not the primary goal of this trip. We hoped to get reacquainted with Yorkshire friends we had not seen in four years and tour a few of the Channel Islands. Those islands were a part of Britain that had, over the years, eluded us. We succeeded with both objectives. Though we missed a remarkable April in central Pennsylvania, the new travel experiences and renewed friendships more than made up for it.
  
  The map below shows the location of Harrogate and of the Channel Islands. We were fortunate in being able to stay in Harrogate for two weeks and for an equal time on Guernsey in the Channel Islands.
