Our stay in Stratford was short and sweet, with an arrival well timed for the Shakespeare Festival. The primary venue for its theatrical productions is the Festival Theatre, which can seat more than 1800 patrons:
After settling into our accommodations for the night, we walked to the Theatre, picked up tickets for the evening performance, and then relished a quiet stroll along the Avon River nearby:
Reaching the shady confines of the Shakespearean Gardens ...
we reversed directions and hiked back through town.
The evenings performance was “The Misanthrope,” a famous comedy by Moliere. We found it funny indeed and admirably done.
